Golf coaching is all about you and what you want to get out of your game. Here at Penrith Golf Club, Tim Dykes and myself pride ourselves on being good listeners and aim to provide the best possible professional advice, whilst ensuring each lesson is tailored and enjoyable for the golfer.

Why Coaching?

2021 saw our teaching studio move to a new home on the driving range. Fully kitted out to provide Swing analysis and SkyTrak data we are able to provide a first-class teaching experience.

With dual-screen technology not only can we display ball and swing data we can also analyse the swing a the same time. By using visual analysis it is much easier to explain the root causes of ball flight and swing issues. Once established the work can be undertaken and the path to lower scores embarked on.

Andrew Sowerby - Head PGA Professional

Growing up in Appleby Andrew's knowledge of the local golf scene has proved invaluable in forging strong links with members and visitors. Having represented Cumbria at senior level Andrew qualified as a PGA professional in 2003 and hasn’t looked back since. Andrew has recently joined the club after a long spell at Penrith Golf Club as Head PGA Professional involved in the running of the club. Andrew’s knowledge and love of the game shines through in his enthusiasm and engaging welcome to any golfer who visits Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club. Andrew has over 18 years of retail experience, which he puts to good use as Shop manager, you will not find any professional better placed to help with advice or an equipment purchase.
